Frequently Asked Questions

Audience: 
This workshop aims at the participation of researchers involved in carbon cycle research, organizing committees of national and regional networks, researchers and activists involved in public education and public policy.

Costs: 
The workshop is offered free of charge and includes lunches and coffee breaks.
Participants are responsible for their own travel to Paris/France (flight, hotel, dinner).

Duration:
The workshop registration starts with a welcome coffee/tea on Monday, April 20 at 10AM at the venue. The programme starts at 11AM. All lunches and coffee breaks are offered free of charge. A conference dinner is planned on Monday evening (http://www.grainsnoblesetplus.com). Please let us know if you do not plan to attend for better organisation. The workshop is expected to be finish on Tuesday, April 21 at 6PM.

Purpose:
The fusion of data streams from observational infrastructures with advanced earth system models is the next step in developing integrated knowledge on global carbon and greenhouse gas budgets. This workshop aims at bringing together experts to advance this development. This will highlight the value of carbon observations provided by interoperable data sources in the context of various data usage and modeling frameworks, with a multidisciplinary context. This workshop will evolve in the context of the COP21 and hence enhance the visibility of these activities. Results and perspectives from this workshop can be passed on to the COP21 discussion and the scientific conference held at Paris in July 2015.

The workshop is jointly organized by ICOS and NEON, research infrastructures dedicated to carbon and ecosystems observations in Europe and in the USA respectively.

How to get there:
The workshop will take place in the Maison Internationale, Cité Universitaire – Paris/France on April, 20th and 21st 2015. The venue is located in the South of Paris center is reachable by public transport RERB (blue line), Tram T3 and buses at station 'Cité Universitaire'. You can use the Route Planner of SNCF for connections (http://www.transilien.com). A surrounding map and hotel suggestions for the 14e Arrondissement can be found attached and online.

Posters:
Poster requests can be send until Monday, April 13 latest. The space is limited. We will let you know if your poster is accepted on Tuesday, April 14th. Size of poster panels: height: 150cm, width: 120cm
